DAILY NEW YEAR’S COMMITMENTS

Seek Yahweh while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.  Isaiah 55:6

God grants us 365 or 366 days a year and 24 hours, 1,440 minutes and 86,400 seconds in a day.  What things are all important for us to pursue and never give up on no matter what?

Daily Praise and Thank the Lord.  Psalm 119:164 states “Seven times a day I praise You!”

Daily Seek God in Prayer.  Heman testified in Psalm 88:9, “I have called upon You every day, O Yahweh; I have spread out my hands to You.”

Daily Listen to God Through His Word.  “But his delight is in the law of Yahweh, and in His law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2).  Just like food, we need the Word’s nourishment every day.

Daily Keep Your Vows and Promises.  It’s easy to sing, “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back” but are you faithful to Him each day?

Daily Take Up Your Cross for Jesus.  Jesus said that if anyone wishes to come after Him, he should deny himself, take up his cross (deliberately choose to live for Christ and die to selfish desires) DAILY and follow Him (Luke 9:23). 

Daily Witness for Jesus.  Each day pray for God to give you an open door to sow some gospel seeds in at least one life.  Psalm 96:2 should be our daily motto: “Proclaim good news of His salvation from DAY to DAY.” 

Daily Exhort, Encourage Other Believers.  Hebrews 3:12-13 warns, “See to it brothers, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day…” 

Daily Remember Jesus Could Come Today.  Horatius Bonar took Christ’s thrice-repeated message “Behold, I am coming quickly” (Revelation 22:7, 12, 20) very seriously.  As he went to bed he uttered, “Perhaps tonight, Lord!” and awoke saying, “Perhaps today, Lord!” Let’s make each day count for the Lord!
